Since living on my own and doing my own grocery shopping, I do my best to not go to the grocery store until after 10pm.  My logic is simple.  I am sick and tired of dealing with stupid people.  It seems that the more I try to get along in the world, the more people are in my way to fuck it up for me.  Don’t walk backwards for 10 feet then whip your cart around because you now want to go in another direction without looking.  Don’t talk to a friend at the end of an isle where both of you are blocking it with your carts and then ignore me or snarl at me when I say, “excuse me” to get through.  The new trend is these half sized carts; they are only half the length and are designed, from what I guess, for major cities where people are only going to buy what they can carry home.  This is not center city New York; you drove here in your SUV!

Onto my Wegmans issue.  If you are not familiar with them, they are a grocery store based out of upstate New York and started to branch out through the north east in an attempt to bring the “marketplace atmosphere” everywhere.  There are many benefits to Wegmans, including pre-made food including hand rolled sushi, soups and stews and just about anything you could want on your dinner table, there is even a café where you can sit and eat what you just bought.  They are one of the only places in my area that carries a lot of the oddball organic and vegan foods that I have been trying to work into my diet and they have a larger then normal assortment of seafood then most fish mongers in my area have.  Sounds good so far huh?  My main problem with shopping there during the day is the snotty customers who shop along side me.  Above and beyond what I bitched about earlier in this article, they altogether just seem to have an, “I’m better then you” attitude to them that drives me nuts, as they push their little half cart and sip their charred latte as if it was a nectar from the gods.  It is bad when the customers who make a store successful are what drive me, a customer, away from them.
