Web Hosting Bluebook ordered up a review of their site and services through ReviewMe.com, which I am a paid blogger for.  I’ve also been hosting websites for more than 10 years, so I’ve gone through my fair share of web hosts and had the good with the very bad.

A lot of thought needs to go into who hosts your website, it needs to be reliable, have great tech support and features that are easy to use and access.  Sometimes the hosting companies themselves hide or disguise this information and it can be hard to understand.  Web Hosting Bluebook shows you 10 hosting companies at a quick glance, rates them and shows what they do and don’t offer.  By their own definition,

Web Hosting Bluebook is an informative guide to helping consumers and businesses find top quality web hosting services.

Web sites ranked at webhostingblubook.com provide, affordable domain and web site hosting. No hidden charges and no future spikes in monthly charges. 24/7 support. Very reliable, with 99.9% uptime and unique hosting features to help customers build unique, professional sites with no hassle.

That seems a bit confusing since Web Hosting Bluebook doesn’t offer hosting.  Moving on though, they do provide nice little reviews of what they consider to be the top 10 hosting companies.  Sadly, the site is not dynamic and there are no real-world user comments on any of the hosts.

The site features a blog which has been disabled due to spam, a fairly inactive forum with what appears to be nothing more than ads from other web hosting companies and a few other dead links.  The only really useful part of the site is the Tools & Articles section that lists out some great q&a’s about the web hosting industry.

Overall, the site has a very dated look and feel, the lack of real user feedback on the 10 hosting companies they rated is a disappointment and the dead links are a bit of a buzz kill for me.
