Triple amputee won’t be driving anymore
After reading this news story twice, I’m still shocked. A 40 year old Florida man is sentenced to 5 years in jail for driving without a license. Nothing news worthy there, until you read that he has no arms and only one leg! The press photos show him standing in court too!
He once had a valid license, but it has now been suspended several times since 1985, according to his attorney. He starts the car with his toes, shifts with his knee and steers with the stump of his left arm. He turns on the lights with his teeth.
Tack on another 15 year years for drug charges and you just about wrapped this guy’s life story up.
Seriously though, what on earth do you do if you are the officer pulling this man over and have to take him to jail? You obviously can’t cuff him.
