Republish any RSS feed on your site
I’m a huge fan of RSS feeds; they make it easy to stay connected to websites, blogs and forums that are updated frequently. What if you wanted to publish someone else’s feed on your site or blog? There are many ways to do this; I use FeedBurner’s service for the Deals page on here, and however I may have found a more slick application to use.
Kent Brewster has taken the Yahoo Pipes technology and used it in a great application that will allow anyone to easily republish an RSS feed as HTML on their own site or blog. But why is this cool? If you run a site about music and want to show part of the Billboard top 100, you definitely wouldn’t want to edit that on a daily basis, the RSS feed however will take care of that for you. You’d grab the Billboard RSS feed, plug in the info to Kent Brewster’s badger application and then put the code on your site. Now you’ve added some value to your viewers and content is being driven to your site dynamically.
I may be putting this into place for the Deals page here soon after I test it out some more. If you are currently using this or start to use the Badger service after you read this, let me know what your thoughts are. Please feel free to use the Randomn3ss RSS feed on your blog!
