A concert known for hard rock and metal bands just announced that this year’s tour will be for free. Sharon Osbourne, married to Ozzy Osbourne, made a statement that the Ozzfest tour will be free of charge. The first national tour to do so will embark upon a 25 city tour.

Sponsors will be picking up the cost of the tickets, the bands that are playing will not be paid and the cost of food, drinks and merchandise will cover the remaining expenses.

Osbourne’s reasoning is because of the sky rocketing ticket prices. The younger audience, who cannot afford it, influenced him not to raise prices for Ozzfest. Ultimately, Ozzy made the decision to make the tour for free. Classic bands such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Madonna have sold tickets for as much as $450 each.

Although most are skeptical about free tickets, Osbourne assures that there is no catch. Jagermeister is just one of the supporters said to distribute tickets.
