One hundred pushups
Today starts the first in six weeks of training to do one hundred pushups consecutively. I am doing this with the guidelines and training methods from hundredpushups.com, a site I’ve heard about for sometime but finally decided to stop reading and start doing.
Why do it? Why not? More than a year and a half ago I made My list of happiness which included getting into better shape. I’ve picked up road bicycling and am currently training to ride 45 miles in September for the MS society, so why not throw this into the routine to build some core muscles. It costs nothing and will take less than 15 minutes a day to do.
The six weeks of training requires doing pushups 3 times a week, I will be doing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as suggested, in the evenings after work. In order to start properly, you must first do an initial test, cranking out as many pushups as you can I did 14. Not terrible, but not great. I will be plotting my progress (hopefully) on here daily as I progress. Anyone want to joint me?

I actually just started the same program this morning, fantastic timing. I only managed a wimpy 7 on my initial test last week… but everyone’s got to start somewhere.

Okay, you got me to sign up too. I started at 22. Once the soreness in my lats goes away, I’ll start week 1!
Thanks for plugging this.
