As reported over the weekend, OiNK went down, soft of, and had a host of problems with DNS. Finally sick of being a sub domain, they made the choice to branch out and get their own domain name.

Because of the recent DNS issues, and the undesirable solution to fix them, we are changing the site’s name from OiNK.me.uk to OiNK.cd.

The OiNK.me.uk domain will soon cease to function, and a full changeover will happen shortly. Please update your bookmarks.

Please also re-download any torrents you may have in your clients in order to update the tracker address. Torrents downloaded from now on will contain 2 tracker addresses, the new OiNK.cd domain, and the tracker’s IP address, which should make any future DNS issues less serious. They will also contain the site’s IP address in the torrent comment field, in case of future problems.

Sorry about the inconvenience, but we deem the name change necessary for the continuation of the site.

This does have a few problems that are going to kink up the system for a bit and affect users. The old website domain was very well known, it will take a while before all the users really start to make the switch. All torrents that are currently seeding need to be re-downloaded by their seeders in order to pickup the new tracker URL, kind of a pain, I did mine this morning.

In lieu of these minor setbacks, I think the move is one that was needed for sometime and in the long run, will be beneficial to the site as a whole.

Lastly, I am currently out of invites. If you requested one from me and did not hear back, I apologize. They went much faster than I thought they would. As the people I invited start to build a ratio, I’ll get more and will pass them out again. Thanks for understanding.
