It’s quite shocking to think that a state would allow a 21 year old male to marry a 17 year old female. What’s even more appalling is what Fermin Rodriguez did to his wife, Keyschla. Rodriguez believed that he was wife was cheating on him. This undoubtedly made him infuriated. A dispute began; in turn he grew violent and started to stab her repetitively. Keyschla was stabbed 20 times and some of her hair was cut off. The wounds were reported to be superficial. What is the most outrageous part of the story is that Rodriguez gave their 2 year old son the knife and told him, “Now you stab Mommy”. Fortunately, the young boy did not stab his mother.

Rodriguez has been charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree unlawful threatening and restraint. His bond is at $350,000.

The child was released to Keyschla’s family. She was reported to be out of the hospital.
I could be wrong but I think that is why Bridgeport, Connecticut should not allow a 21 year old man to marry a 17 year old woman.
