So you are bored of MySpace, email and the regular forums you visit, what’s next? You have major news resources like Google News, Reuters, BBC News, etc., but what if you just want to see what’s hot right now, what people are talking about.

Currently there are more then three-dozen feeds in my Google homepage and it is growing on a near daily basis, yet I still have a craving for more fresh content. This is where POPURLS saves the day.

popurls is the dashboard for the latest web-buzz, a single page that encapsulates up-to-the-minute headlines from the most popular sites on the internet.

In essence, they have grabbed the feeds for nearly all-major social sites out there and put them into one slick interface. Many of the articles I write about are found via similar social sites, for me this is a great site to visit several times through the day. For you, it could be a great way to kill some spare time yet still learns something.

I wouldn’t consider this a start page replacement, Google homepage is still my favorite for that, however POPURLS is now planted directly into my Firefox bookmarks toolbar.
