Mr. Wizard passes at age 89
Tuesday June 12th, a television icon passed away, Don Herbert, known to kids around the world at Mr. Wizard. Starting in the 50’s, Mr. Wizard showed kids that science could be fun. Growing up in the 80’s, Mr. Wizard’s World was a must see show, as it was revived for the Nickelodeon Network.
What really set the show apart was that he almost showed you how to blow shit up, but didn’t. If you were to read between the lines, you could make a bomb with what he showed. I also have memories of very early computer programming being shown; the show was always cutting edge, even if it was geared towards children.
He will be missed by millions of kids.
