Monday will be the death of the Cingular brand we have all know to come and love, even if they never did tell us what that little orange logo was supposed to be. AT&T will be moving forward Monday with killing the Cingular brand and spending untold billions to re-brand the AT&T name. All this usually does is bring back horrible memories to those who had AT&T cell phone service way back when and confuse the consumer. It was only a few years back when the Cingular name was created and promoted, heavily.

The thought process is to be more like Verizon, offering a slew of services for all parts of your life, all with one simple name and, and hopefully one big fat bill to AT&T. For me, they don’t offer decent AT&T landline phone service in my area (which I still sadly need), nor do they offer any high speed internet options. So as a Cingular user, my only real change will be who I get my bill from and what website I log into for payment options.

AT&T’s bullshit reason for doing this, to cut costs.
