A story broke this morning that Fidel Castro is in grave condition and may not survive much longer due to three failed surgeries on his lower intestines. This is somewhat of odd news, as most of Fidel’s health is kept a secret, but he did step aside to let his brother run things while was trying to get better this past summer.

The real question is, with the possible demise of one of the world’s last Communistic leaders, would Cuba be open to new trade negotiations? Would Americans be able to travel there again and, more importantly, would we feel safe once more? Cuba hasn’t had much to do with anything close to world news in the last several decades, especially since the fall of the USSR, could this mean possibly an overthrow of the current government as well?

Only time will tell, hopefully later today we will get more solid results on the condition of Castro and where his health stands
