When you have published your article, use the Contact page to send the link, again with your real email address. Please put in the subject line I want a Nalgene bottle. This will get you two entries.

This will give you up to four chances to win the bottle. Around noon on October 15th I will associate all the entries with a number and choose one randomly. Great contest. Nalgene bottles are awesome—I started noticing them back in college and have had a pink one ever since (about 5 years now) and it’s still holding up. Of course, I’d love to have a green one to go with it—you know, so it has a friend. :)

BTW, for an extra $8, you can buy a replacement cap for your Nalgene that has a handle and springloaded valve, so you can drink one-handed. I got mine at EMS over a year ago and love it. You can even lock the valve (with one hand) so it won’t open at all, which should satisfy even the most paranoid in your office.

These bottles are awesome! I have two of them (a widemouth 1000ml and a 500ml). They even have an easy sipper cap for the widemouth that works great. The cap strap is strong. I hook a carabiner to mine and then I can hook it to my bag — hasn’t fallen off or worked loose yet. I would definitely be interested in getting one of these bottles.

And thanks for bringing my notice to this site! I like it!

For the record, they say “top rack only” in the dishwasher for a reason. That plastic cap can dangle down and touch the heating element in the dishwasher. And when that plastic starts to melt, burn and drip inside your dishwasher while it’s still running… well, it’s not the best thing I’ve ever smelled, that’s for sure. So yeah, sign me up to win a replacement.

Good stuff Mike, I’ll definitely be participating with my blog on that day, which also happens to be my mother’s birthday so I can’t forget it, lol.

Mike - what a great move impacting the move yourself! I’m guilty of buying water bottles… If I win, I promise I’ll move to a water delivery service, I’ve heard that that’s the most efficient.

Blog Action Day is a really great idea - has the major news media picked up on it yet?

[ # 6059 ] Comment from Mike Panic [October 12, 2007, 5:18 pm]

Russ, with something like 9,000 blogs registered already, and some of the largest blogs on the internet, someone will have to pay attention Monday - at least that is the goal.
